The Definition of Rich

Everyone has their own definition of "rich."
For some it's a number: a million dollars, ten million, whatever figure feels safely out of reach. For others it's the things: the house, the car, the business-class seat.
Here's my definition:
You are rich when having more money doesn't change your life or what you do.
To me, someone earning a modest salary, doing work they'd choose anyway, living where they want to live, is rich. On the other hand, someone earning ten times that, grinding through a job they hate because the next bonus might finally set them free, is not rich.
To me, rich isn't an amount. It's a gap between the life you have and the life you want to be. Most people try to close that gap from one side, without realising you can also close it from the other.
